Largest Roofing Companies in the US

Leaf Home led Roofing Contractor magazine's 2026 Top 100 entrants by reported revenue, at about US$2.094 billion; Tecta America led commercial contractors at US$1.6 billion.[1] The list is voluntary and reports prior-year revenue; it is not a ranking of workmanship or every U.S. roofing business. Contractors install roofing; manufacturers such as GAF make materials and are discussed separately below.
Largest Entrants by Reported Revenue
This is a compact comparison of the publisher's 2026 top ten. Revenue is in USD and refers to 2025 reported activity; the publisher notes that Flynn's figure covers U.S. revenue only. Leaf Home's reported figure includes roofing and gutters. CentiMark did not submit for this edition, so its omission does not establish that it is smaller than every entrant.[1]

The US roofing market is worth tens of billions of dollars a year, driven by aging housing stock, new construction, and extreme weather; published market-size estimates vary widely depending on whether they count materials, contractor services, or both. Most of that work is performed by tens of thousands of regional and local contractors, with a small number of large companies operating nationally.[2] In the 2026 Top 100, the ten largest entrants reported between about $335 million and $2.1 billion in revenue each.[3]
Largest Commercial Roofing Contractors
These companies consistently rank among the largest commercial roofing contractors in the US by revenue:
- Tecta America — One of the largest commercial roofing contractors in North America, headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, with more than 110 locations nationwide and a focus on commercial and industrial roofing.[4] It reported $1.6 billion in revenue in the 2026 Top 100, the highest of any commercial contractor on the list.[3]
- CentiMark Corporation — A national commercial roofing and flooring contractor based in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, operating since 1968 and serving customers across the US and Canada.[5] CentiMark ranked second in the 2025 Top 100 but chose not to submit figures for the 2026 list.[6][3]
- Nations Roof — A large national commercial roofing contractor, founded in 2004 with 40+ branch locations, specializing in low-slope and single-ply systems for big-box, industrial, and institutional clients.[7]
- Baker Roofing Company — Founded in 1915 in Raleigh, North Carolina, one of the largest and oldest roofing contractors in the Southeast, handling both residential and commercial work.[8] It ranked seventh in the 2026 Top 100, listed under Cary, North Carolina.[3]
- Flynn Group of Companies — A major North American building-envelope and roofing contractor with 35 locations across the United States and Canada (headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario).[9] Its Top 100 entry counts US revenue only.[3]
- Kalkreuth Roofing & Sheet Metal — A large commercial roofing and sheet-metal contractor based in Wheeling, West Virginia.[2]
- Best Contracting Services — A commercial roofing, waterproofing, sheet-metal and glazing contractor based in Gardena, in Southern California, in business since 1982.[10]
- Latite Roofing & Sheet Metal — A Florida roofing contractor headquartered in Pompano Beach, in business since 1943 and serving residential, commercial, and condominium markets.[11]
Exact ranking and revenue figures change yearly; consult the current Roofing Contractor Top 100 for the latest standings.
Largest Residential Roofing Companies
On the residential side, the biggest companies are typically large home-improvement firms and roofing-focused brands operating across many states:
- Erie Home (formerly Erie Metal Roofs) — A large residential roofing company specializing in metal and asphalt roof systems.[12] Erie Home was acquired in 2025 by Leaf Home, and the combined company ranked first overall in the 2026 Top 100 with about $2.1 billion in roofing and gutter revenue.[13][3]
- West Shore Home — A growing multi-state home-improvement company headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, best known for window, door, and bath remodeling; roofing availability varies by market.[14]
- Long Home Products — A large multi-state residential roofing and exterior remodeler, with locations in several Mid-Atlantic and New England states and Florida.[15]
- Bone Dry Roofing — A large Midwest-based residential and commercial roofing company headquartered in Indianapolis, with offices in several states; Roofing Contractor named it 2023 Residential Roofing Contractor of the Year.[16][17]
- Tadlock Roofing — A Florida residential and commercial roofing company that has served North and Central Florida since 1980.[18]
Largest Roofing Material Manufacturers
"Largest roofing companies" sometimes refers to the manufacturers that produce roofing materials rather than the contractors who install them. The biggest North American roofing manufacturers include:
- GAF — The largest roofing manufacturer in North America, known for asphalt shingles and commercial systems.[19]
- Owens Corning — A leading manufacturer of shingles, insulation, and roofing components.[20]
- CertainTeed — A major manufacturer of residential and commercial roofing products and a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain.[21]
- Carlisle SynTec and Holcim Building Envelope (Elevate, formerly Firestone Building Products) — Leading manufacturers of commercial single-ply membranes including TPO and EPDM. Firestone's roofing systems became the Elevate brand of Holcim's building-envelope division in 2022.[22][23]
- IKO, Atlas Roofing, TAMKO, and Malarkey — Major shingle and roofing-product manufacturers.
How the "Top 100" Rankings Work
The industry-standard list is Roofing Contractor magazine's annual Top 100, which ranks roofing contractors by self-reported annual revenue from the previous year, along with peak staffing and the split between residential and commercial work. Contractors submit their figures through an online form and are also asked to disclose private-equity ownership.[2] Participation is voluntary: CentiMark, which had been first or second for a decade, did not submit for 2026, and Leaf Home became the first residential company in at least ten years to take the top spot.[3] Other organizations, such as the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), publish industry data but not a single definitive "largest" ranking. Because revenue, acquisitions, and private-equity consolidation shift the standings every year, treat any specific rank as a snapshot in time.[24]
Finding a Top Roofing Company Near You
For most homeowners and building owners, the best roofer is a highly rated local contractor — not necessarily a national giant. Large national companies excel at multi-site commercial portfolios, while local specialists often provide better pricing and service for a single home or building.
